There are many ways to tell if you are in the ghetto. Other than hearing "Get the F^@k out da Hood!" screamed from passing cars.
Shoes hanging from telephone wires from above.
upside down signs that in a nicer neighborhood would be fixed weeks ago.
Always a sure sign you're in the ghetto when instead of guitar lessons being advertized on telephone poles it is a ride to the local prison to visit relatives.
And if you miss all of that just count the number of random shopping carts around where there is no grocery store in sight. The higher the number the more ghetto the street.

I believe I may have finished the leaves of our nursery tree. 1840 leaves and it feels done.
So I have moved on to bumblebees. I would normally draw them differently but we are trying to match the decor of the room to theme of the baby's bedding.
Not very easy drawing three identical bees with house paint. Next step is the beehive. Bees gotta have a home.

Having a Cat Nap on my Lap

Currently working on a couple of creative ideas. Typing up a short story introducing a new character. The title of it is "The Press File" about a investigator, Kaiden Cross, who is trying to discover what is happening to houses that are vanishing, completely vanishing.

Up until a year ago today I was a smoker. Pretty serious one too.
I finally quit at 7 am on February 6th 2010.
Today marks the one year anniversary of that moment. Man it took a lot of effort. I am glad I did it.

Decided to leave my car behind to get a shot of why there was dead stopped traffic into the Ted Williams Tunnel.
Walk a mile before I found what was holding up traffic. Two guys working in an electric closet.
I was unimpressed...Also a hint to truck drivers. Don't blow your exceedingly load horn in a tunnel at a photographer who doesn't have ear protection.

I ended up walking the 1.6 miles through the whole tunnel to get to the other side.

Checked out a real enjoyable band tonight. Spitting Vinnies were playing at the Green Dragon. Nice to hear a live band most of the time and these guys were enjoyable. They play the Green Dragon often.
Ended up staying through to closing hanging with three other photogs Dave, Barry, and Ted.

After cleaning my own roof I had to do a story today about someone else who should have. Their roof collapsed while they were still in it. There have been so many roof collapses over the past few days
My reporter and I were glad to be out of there right after this picture. Cold snap brought the temps down to pretty frigid.

visited Greenwich CT with my sister and went to a nice sweet shoppe "Versailles"
My favorite choice of the many treats we tried was the key lime pie tart
nikki was flabbergasted that I ordered a beer to go with it
it was so good
