PICTURE TO REFER TO

I am having a hard time imagining how the different parts of my world in the graphic novel will fit together so I kind of cut and paste pictures I thought looked like what I was imagining...that way I can just draw based on an actual image...it will make perspective better because I am trying to draw a wide perspective here and I usually don't do any perspective backgrounds...tell me what you think...this is for when the boy walks into this world and is shocked by the majestic view...

I am checking out the first of the Babycart Movies from the 70's based on the Lone Wolf and Cub Manga series...it was banned for a long time for being a video nasty...so it probably will be bloody...I think I can take it though...

This is a hydraulic woodsplitter...I saw it while out visiting my parents in Midstate NY...I have personal experience with woodsplitters...I split my hand in half in 10th grade because of a woodsplitter...

I have been working on the scripting of my new project...
It is a Graphic Novel best described as "Winnie the Pooh" meets "War and Peace"
I am using some of the characters I created in high school as well as recent characters...
and some of my characters in this project have a history that goes back as far as 4th and 5th grade when I was doing mini comics with friends...
Almost twenty years ago...
I hope to release the first issue on my blog for a limited time around September of this year...

Wemt to see V for Vendetta...boy was it good...I chose to see the movie before delving into Moore's Graphic Novel...because naturally Moore is a maniac with his ideas and there will be stuff they leave out or change...Moore's reaction..."Rubbish"

VT STATEHOUSE

Montpelier is the only state capital without a McDonald's

Driving to Plattsburgh...I drove so efficiently that I cut about 45 minutes off the trip...woohoo!

Wednesday, March 15, 2006

I am going to visit Burlington for some food at a great place then on to Plattsburgh to hang out with some friends and then on to Montreal to do some shopping for stuff you can't get in the States...and then back to Plattsburgh and on to Albany to watch V for Vendetta...with some friends...and to drink a bit before heading back to work the next day...

This is a vase depicting the horrific tale of Pandora's Box...it has nothing to do with Pandora.com
which is a music playing website...check it out...it is awesome and my friend Kevin turned me on to it...all you have to do is type in a song or band and it will continue to play music that is in the same category...like your own specialized radio station...
I have a few favorite selections...Tenacious D...plays music of the ballad type that might be a bit humorous...and Vast...which plays music with a bit of an industrial tilt

Another character sketch...

The graphic novel I am working on will have a build up of a war between funny animal type characters and dwarves...in a land behind a closet door...I have finished drafting the first three pages...
I am having much better progress than the one I just stopped trying to do because it was autobiographical in nature but I didn't feel like that story in particular was interesting...in the future I will do an autobiographical piece but it will be about the heavyest point in my life not a silly couple of months of boredom...
Ennui is not my friend indeed it is an enemy...

DOCTOR WHO BACK

I have been waiting years...for the return of Doctor Who...a show I was introduced to as a child by my mother...We watched it on PBS while I was growing up...It is such a great show because it allows for the change of actors...written into the story and the last Doctor to pass was an upsetting time because it has taken so long to find him again...
He will be back on Scifi channel on March 17th
He has twelve regenerations and has used up ten of them... here they are clockwise from upper left from beginning to now...
My favorite regeneration of The Doctor is number four played by Tom Baker...

SHORT LIVED TELEVISION

I wish this show of all the shows I followed had lasted a little longer...It only lasted 13 episodes...but the concept was really original and humorous as well as suspenseful...
The main character is a hard-boiled detective who kills his wifes rapist in cold-blood...
When he later dies he is told by the devil that he is going to spend eternity in Hell...
But then there is a hell-break and 113 of the worst souls escape...
The devil gives Zeke Stone a deal...he will gain redemption if he returns all 113 of the lost souls...
And everytime he captures a soul a correspondiong tattoo on his skin disappears...
I just wish it had lasted longer...
It fits in the mold of other series I have loved that were cut short...They all have the main character under the control of his obvious enemy...
Brimstone: He is in the employ of the devil
Now and Again: The main character is killed but they keep his brain alive and he has to stay with the government scientist who controls him... and He can't see his wife again

Invisible Man: The main character is subjected to an experiment and then has to stay under the control of the government that ran the experiment... because they hold the medicine he needs to keep from going crazy...

MARCH 4th 1981

This would be my sister, Sara's, 25th birthday...
She was a singer...She loved Dolly Parton...She was loud...She was messy...She had sparkling blue eyes...She had curly, curly hair...
At the time I was 16 and thought she was annoying...She was only 12 and followed me around like a shadow...We were a lot in common...Neither one of us really fit in...
The last day I saw her I recorded her singing, "Working 9 to 5" one of Dolly Parton's songs...the tape has since gone missing due to it being evidence and it being a long time since the case has been left unfinished...
On August 18th 1993 she was stolen from my family by Lewis Lent...a Massachusetts man who is suspected of killing other children before her...He has never told us where we can find her body...
Since February 3rd 2006 Sara has been dead longer than she was alive...
